Frequently Asked Questions

Painting Services

Q. There are so many different types of paints and stains. How do I know which is the best for me?

Determining which product is appropriate for your specific application depends upon several factors. Type of substrate used, degree of exposure to the elements and degree of shine expected from finish coat are just a few variables to consider before choosing a product. A painting professional will be able do direct you towards the most appropriate choice.

Q.  How available is your staff?

With a staff of 50 experienced painters we are always available for both small and large scale projects. Starting dates are carefully chosen because a crew does not leave a site until the completion of the project.

Q.  How do you determine a price?

Pricing, of course, is project specific but typically determined by square footage. Each product (stucco, paint, stain, etc.) carries with it a price per square foot for application. We ensure that the customer is aware of the total price before the completion of the project. We also ensure that if there are items that cause a variation in the pricing the customer is aware before the completion of the project.

Q. How do your prices compare to other painting companies?

We are competitive with other contractors – not the highest or lowest. We deliver a good paint job at a fair price.

Q. Do you have workers’ compensation and liability insurance?

You bet.

Q. Are the painters supervised?

Yes. A Job Site Manager supervises every job. The manager is on-site and available to answer your questions.

Stucco Services

Q.  What warranties do I have with your stucco systems?

Labor and materials carry a 5, 6, 7, 10, 12 or even 15 year warranty
depending on product selection. Specific warranty information is available upon request.

Q.  Does Stucco offer any added insulation values to my home?

Yes, R-values can increase from as little to 11 to as much as 25.

Q.  What type of maintenance does stucco require?

Typically a stucco finish should be pressure-washed every two years to avoid accumulation of mold and mildew. Periodic checking of expansion joints should also occur. Also, like with any other type of exterior wall cladding, the stucco finish color will fade slightly over the years due to exposure to the elements. At that time you may opt for a simple and inexpensive recoat with finish color.

Q.  I am concerned about water damage, how do I avoid it?

Professional stucco applicators are well versed in the most common entry points for water penetration. Before the application process begins our field managers will inspect for appropriate flashing, appropriate sealant and caulking, window construction, moisture barriers, areas of transition between walls and roofs and walls to doors and chimneys. Stucco is resistive to water intrusion when it is applied correctly. Always consult a professional first.

Q.  What choices do I have with regard to colors and details?

Variations to color and details are limitless. As with paint any color can be matched and applied as a finish coat. Details can be created on site, or specially ordered, to reproduce that special look that you require.

Q.  Can stucco be applied as an interior wall finish?

Yes. Stucco can be used to finish walls, fireplaces, ceilings, bathrooms and interior pool areas. A professional will be able to determine which stucco choices would be available for your specific applications.

Q.  What types of substrates can stucco be applied over?

Stucco can be applied to cement, wood, brick, wallboard, cement board, Stone and Dens-Glass Gold.
